..my birthday..

alright..now i know that i have been into blogging for more than a year now..my first blog here is on my jolibee birthday party..

ok, my first treat to myself this year was not coming to my admin class..i swear i think and felt that i was not entitled to stress..i could not let javy do that to me!..

so after that i went shopping..well just little things i bought for myself..and then at around 4pm, i arrived at UST, i.e. the pit..to celebrate my birthday with my lawschool friends..now i have to thank them all for coming and celebrating the afternoon with me..ok..from my leftmost: kerwyn, of course george, chelle, pinky, maam myra, eldric, nestle, deny, tl, cz, jewelle, shierma, sol, eyeah, joyce, jaems..dear God i hope i did not miss anybody..

i went home to fix myself up for the next event..this celebration this time was with my neighbors and officemates, and zar with officemates..we thought at first that it was going to be celebrated at gardenville admin area, but due to iron-clad rules and with the no-beer policy, we decided to celebrate it at muchos ktv bar and restaurant..

i had lots of fun!..now i have thank them for coming, in the order that they came..thank you best ace (best! thanks for making my party a blast! halleluia indeed!) , elaine ( don't worry about the tequilla, it was all worth it) , aaron ( who did not sing a single song, hmp!) , john ( my dancing partner that night, thanks so much!), miki, maco, mitz (thanks for the "after you go" song), yolly and paul ( see you next week!), of course zar and bro ej, the e-tel girls jaq, joie, marge with archie (thanks gel! miss you!) and rianne..gabby, jay, jik and gf, marco and pong, brando, asyong, cuz airis (better days the best!) and cuz lloyd, schoolmate kurt, tere and philip (chong sa susunod na pagwawala!) and of course, bob and anna..thank you all so much for coming to my birthday party..i love you all so much!..

..the tagaytay seminar..

..This was one of the most fun seminar I had..

..It started when our President nominated me to attend the Seminar sponsored by the US embassy. Looking at the program, it was for persons aged 25-35. I had a problem. I am days away from being 25. I thought, I'll just be honest about it. So i was quite suprised to receive a letter from the US embassy confirming my attendance..

..Friday. It was the first day of the seminar. Following the program, we would be staying at the embassy first for a video conference with a certain Indian guy who is India's hero when it came to anti-corruption. Before and after the conference, our group, the business and professional organizations, headed by Mr. Addie Suzara, were enjoying each other's company with our experiences and stories. Toix!, yung TIPO natin ha?..

..We left for Tagaytay at around 2pm. We arrived at around 4:30 p.m. I was roomed with Francis from ANC, and she appreciated when i told her ( yes, she is a she), that ANC was my favorite channel. Also Jenny from mahintana foundation, one of PWI's partners. We reaaly did not do much aside from watching "Kubrador ". It was a nice film and im sure the producers had a nice time dealing with us and our new found friends from the media..

..Saturday. I had a nice rest after the long day yesterday. the seminar proper went well. A lot of sharing with other NGOs and a fruitful planning I should say. But the most interesting part was the NIGHT OUT!..From our friends from the US embassy witnessing my debut performance in Taal Vista from Chads, it was one hell of a party!..At Chads more specifically, the band literally gave up the stage for us! And literally, we (the participants) occupied all of the seats in the bar!..It was really fun. I guess what really started the high was the performers during the night, which really hyped up our energies!..

..What was fun there was the realization that organizations from all over the country, CSOs, the media, and even the government can join together and enjoy the thing it enjoys doing. I was thinking, if anti-corruption efforts was something that everybody enjoyed doing, if it was something that would make the people really get up the stage and actually act at performance level so to speak, if anti- corruption was like "celebration" that everybody would yell from the bottom of their lungs, if anti-corruption efforts was as fun as singing "dancing queen", then just imagine what our country would be in the next years..

..Sunday. Everybody, well, the Chads group, woke up late and had breakfast late. But that was ok. The agenda was merely the presentations of the groups. But don't get me wrong. The ideas were briliant and if we could focus on just some of them, i believe we can make a difference..

..Thank you to the following people who made it memorable: My roomates:Francis and Jennifer, My groupmates: Ryan, Ms. Pia, kathy, jules, mae, and Sir Addie (who was a wonderful moderator)..to my new found friends in media: TJ ( i mean who would forget TJ?), wilson, Alwin, and Francis..our friends from the US embassy, Micheal and Bruce, i beg of you do not keep my picture during the jamming session..and of course, and everybody in the Seminar!..Thanks so much!..

..They said there is a follow up activity. So, Chads anyone?..:)

..things to be happy about..

It has been a while since I logged in to my blog and there were a olt of things that I should be happy, and thankful for..But due to schedule constraints, I will not be able to put them fully here but just as well, I want to list them down briefly:

a) I was able to attend my first last sunday bar operations. - Although I saw no one at the UST bar site, I just stayed at the SSCR bar site to cheer for Kuya Kiks! (tagal lumabas, akala namin nasa ibang bar site ka na e!).. It's nice to know and I am very happy and excited that I will be there next year to cheer for my friends..Grabe! mag-exam na kayo!..

b) I was able to participate in the Procurement Study Tour of the Nigerian Senators - It's always nice to meet people, especially coming from a different country wherein you could share each other's culture. But the purpose of their stay was to get their advice on how to draft their procurement bill, with the participation of the civil society..It's at the end of the day when they say thanks and when they say that you've been of much help that you feel really proud of what you have done for that day.

c) the GROWLING TIGERS WON THE UAAP MENS BASKETBALL!!! - O YES WE MADE IT!..I guess the only thing that I am not happy about is the fact that I was not able to get tickets even if I called Ticketnet hours after Game 2..but then again, it was worth rushing home and losing my voice after winning the game..Go USTE!!!

d) My Revalida is Over! - Thank God its over!..I may ( no, I really didn't) do very well during that revalida. But I am happy its over..3 semesters of that nalang!..:)

e) I survived my first day of examinations - I feel like I could start enjoying my semesteral break already. Imagine taking 3 examinations in one day!..Gosh, thank God I enjoyed a good nights rest last night.

f) I am back at work - I honestly missed my officemates. Its sure nice to work again after studying straight for more than a week!..

..my first bar operations..

..ok this is the story of my first bar operations..

..first, i went to the alleged meeting for bar operations volunteers at 10 am, at the moot court..but there was no one there..good thins i went to the conference room and saw the labor group doing their thing..so i went there, hanged and had lunch with them..

..after that, i went to the church for the mass for the barristers, ( or judge, is this the proper way of addressing them? hehe) and the topnotchers made their speeches..but everybody agreed that it could have been more fun, meaning noisier, if it were held outside of the church, with no bridesmaids waiting for us to finish our event..

..it was fun to cheer for the barristers.. and wishing them well for the examinations..

..so after that tiring event, i went home first, to settle some things and then i proceeded to the bayview plaza..nakigulo lang ako dun sa acads..hehe..and yes, as they all know, i slept very very well..

..but my undisturbed rest paid off as i was all set and ready for my first official send off..we were at the site at around 6:00 am..waiting for the barristers to walk their way in..all energies were set and the props and drums prepared for them..but unfortunately, we only saw a few of them..ngerks..

..but despite that it was generally ok..they said that the last sunday would be the best one..lets see if i can attend despite the upcoming revalida..

..bamboo..

..the bamboo concert was a blast..

..it was the best reward after the long job done during the preliminary examinations..

..everybody was singing with him..especially when he sang his rivermaya songs..

..hay..

..sa uulitin..

..there's a miracle in storm..

..just this morning, when i rode the bus on my way to work, i heard an old song..i do not even know if it really is the title.."miracle in storm"..song by whitney houston or so i guess..

..but the words as well as her singing were powerful..it goes..

.."nothing should matter,
not when love grows inside you,
the choice is yours...
there's a miracle in storm..

nothing should matter,
not when love grows inside you
the voice of love...
its crying out..
don't let it slip away..
for nothing should matter.."

..i just thought, is happiness really your choice?..

..something to ponder on this tuesday afternoon..

..after seven months..

..i have been living independently for over seven months already..

.. having an own place to stay, no curfews, no limts, but a lot of responsibilities..

..last saturday, my twin sister and i visited our hometown, and stayed there til sunday..

..i hanged out with my family, all of them except for my dad, who is excused for being out of the country..all of my nephews and nieces were present..

..sunday morning, i woke up and went out to buy something that i could cook for breakfast..

..and this was the point that i realized that i missed waking up in our house, and walking that street i walked on for the past18 years..

..sigh..

..i guess there's really no place like home..

..i am just feeling confused, nervous, excited and overwhelmed all at the same time..

..in the right place and most definite if not important, in the right time..

..right now, i would like to believe that God has a plan for me..

..and i cant help but remember my high school days, when i had the opportunity to see darren hayes' beautiful blue eyes..

..and how he said i had beautiful eyes..

..haay.. i was such a wonderful day..and i didn't even care if people said he was gay..

..and as "i want you" goes.."i'll die to find out".. i did.

..dexter..

..My baby dog passed away just this morning..

..i am so affected I almost cried during our staff meeting this morning..its sort of embarrassing because it was of course not part of the agenda..

..dexter was a loving and caring dog..he was with us since I was in second year high school..imagine all the stories he heard from me..all the time I was really sad and really alone..he was there patiently listening to me..

..im beginning to think I sound really stupid for saying all that..because I heard stories about dying dogs and how I silently commented “how hard could it be?”..but I now I know the answer..

..my friends and neighbors know how loyal dexter was..plus, he even waits for me to get a ride, whatever it is, taxi or jeep, before he goes home..he waits for me to get home before he enters our gate..

..im going to miss my baby dog....love you baby dog!..if its true that all dogs go to heaven, then don’t forget to look down on me..
